free music
What's your opinion on file sharing and all that shit? It's a debatable subject. Some say that it's destroyed the music business while others say it's not a major issue. What do you think?

Re: free music
I think it's a good thing.
Because due to the fact that it's free more people will fancy listening to music which creates a bigger fanbase.
With the technology we have right now CDs are barely bought anyways.
I remember the days where walkmans were still popular and you had to buy actual CDs to be able to listen to music.
But nowadays it's all about fame and concerts which bring in the big money.

Re: free music
It has it's good and bad sides obviously.
It's great for your lazyass consumer to be able to listen to music for free (not necessarily even pirated music, you have youtube, spotify, etc) to listen to music free of charge, but it can hinder musicians making money.
Does it matter if musicians lose even 25% of their revenue? The most famous musicians make so much money that losing 25% of their income really doesn't matter.
As Nylez said, it may be better for them to have a bigger fanbase through free music rather than those who can pay to listen to their music.

Re: free music
Yeah, it's not really the famous musicians who are hurt most though, more the new and upcoming musicians who find it tough.

Re: free music
i have to agree with kessu , it does have good and bad aspects. I'll tell you about my country very few people used to buy CD's
and music was not that much in ,but in this decade due to availability of free music on internet many music fans have emerged and people have started to take interest in music industry and started to follow a certain musician and the number of followers of musicians have increased significantly and i agree with Nylez that these days its the concerts which bring the big money .
