Re: Musical instruments
Sup guys.
I've been recently thinking of buying a new guitar and browsed tons of guitar catalagos, looking for a guitar, that'd perfectly fit me, stopped at two potential candidates, which are Jackson JS32T King V and Jackson JS32T Kelly BK, both sound nicely and overall look badass. Would like to hear your opinions regarding my case: which one deserves my hands to be playing it. I'm myself a rhytm player on vocals (though i can play fast solos too), going to play the thrash / heavy metal songs. So these two are the best choice for me.

Re: Musical instruments
That's if it's a real King V and not the new JS series pieces of crap. If you're going to buy a Jackson it's worth putting in the extra $$$ for the real deal (KVXMG/KEXMG). Trust me, this is coming from a Jackson expert.Rapture wrote:King V all the way
Good cheap instruments are very hard to come by, and usually if you want a good guitar you have to put in the money for it. Buying cheap will pretty much always mean losing out on quality.

Re: Musical instruments
I surely would like to buy a guitar, that costs more expensive, but the problem is my parents don't take my hobby serious, so they won't give me a big amount of money to buy new guitar. I saved up some money myself, by working, but that'd be enough only for those two. :[
On other hand I could sell it later, when i have more money.

Re: Musical instruments
State both the one regardless of the price, and the other with cheaper price but is still ok quality-wise.

Re: Musical instruments
In more of a budget range, you'll mostly be looking at squiers. They've gotten a lot of bad press about the years but their recent quality is worth more than Mexican Fenders. So you'll be looking at Vintage Modified (VM) or Classic Vibe (CV) basses.
VM Jazz bass is one of the most popular budget basses and is excellent quality, it will set you around ~$200-$250 new. Made in Indonesia.
CV basses are pretty much the same thing, although they take specs from the previous generations of basses and emulates them, the cost is higher but the quality is too.
These are the 2 best basses when it comes to budget, can't find any better deal.
We can talk better basses only if you have more than $1000 - where USA basses come into question (they'll last you a lifetime).
No point in getting Mexican Fenders like I said, waste of around $600 when you can get a much better bass for half the price.
As for amps, Fender Rumbles are a good choice but you'll need to decide how much watts you want:
15 Watts ($99) - You won't be leaving the house with that much, get ready to be lonely, unless you want to jam with an acoustic guitar pal.
40 Watts ($160) - Bands come into question, get ready to reherse.
100 Watts (~$250) - All set until you get to a later date when you want to take this more than a hobby.
There's more cheap basses people will recommend ie. Ibanez, Epiphone, Cort, etc. but I've tried some of these and I was not that much impressed. Only thing up to you is to decide if you want a Precision or Jazz, but that's up to you.

Re: Musical instruments
I'd listen to Rapture, he's the most experienced bassist here. I'll recommend anything Fender, Peavey are not too bad either.

Haha nice one bro
Also I agree, Jacksons can be expensive as f**k, defiantly if you want a decent one.

Re: Musical instruments
It's a bit uncomfortable playing it when seated, but I'll get used to it in course of time. My friend will be buying Jackson's Kelly JS32 Quicksilver in the end of this year, idk if this is crap or not in your opinion, but w/e, it's going to sound way better than the current one he plays, the main reason of this is just the f**king dollar rate, which is too damn high here and it almost kills our national currency. So, yeah we have to find alternatives or sell our kidneys.

Re: Musical instruments
It's one of the cheaper models. It doesn't sound as good as the more expensive models obviously, since you get what you pay for. I was lucky enough to get a second hand custom pro series Dinky from a friend of mine for a lot less than its worth. It pays off to be a well known player in the local scene.. I miss those days.JackDawZ wrote:My friend will be buying Jackson's Kelly JS32 Quicksilver in the end of this year, idk if this is crap or not in your opinion
